COMMON HEART CONDITIONS:

Coronary artery disease
Blockages in the blood vessels/arteries supplying blood to the muscle of the heart.
The symptoms of coronary heart disease will depend on the severity of the disease or blockage. There may be no symptoms, some have episodes of mild chest pain or angina, and some have more severe chest pain.

Angina
Angina (or angina Pectoris) is recurring chest pain, pressure or discomfort that happens when some part of the heart does not receive enough blood and oxygen. Angina is a symptom of coronary artery disease (CAD), which occurs when arteries that carry blood to the heart become narrowed and blocked due to atherosclerosis.

Heart attack
Heart attack, or myocardial infarction, occurs when one or more regions of the heart muscle experience a severe or prolonged lack of oxygen caused by blocked blood flow to the heart muscle.

Heart rhythm disorders
These range from extra beats (PVCs and PACs), irregular rhythms (Atrial Fibrillation and Flutter), heart blocks to dangerous rhythms (Ventricular Tachycardia and Fibrillation). These require care by a physician or other healthcare professional.

Heart valve disease
Healthy valves open and close fully to allow the blood flow in only one direction. When a valve can’t open completely, blood is pumped through a smaller-than-normal opening. When a valve can’t close completely, blood leaks back into the previous chamber. Treatments may range from medications and prophylactic antibiotics to surgery.

Congestive heart failure
Because of dysfunctional or weak heart muscle, fluid backs up in the lungs and lower extremities causing shortness of breath and swelling of legs.Symptoms can be controlled with proper medications. If caught early and managed properly, heart failure and a patient’s survival can improve.

Women's heart disease
Heart disease isn't just a man's disease. Heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases are devastating to women, too. In fact, coronary heart disease, which causes heart attack, is the leading cause of death for American women. Many women believe that cancer is more of a threat, but they're wrong. Nearly twice as many women in the United States die of heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases as from all forms of cancer, including breast cancer.
It is important to recognize and treat women’s heart issues, as well as treat their risk factors.

Dyslipidemia
Lipid disorders predispose to Coronary Artery Disease and Peripheral Vascular Disease and all their complications. Early detection, proper treatment, frequent testing, re-evaluation and patient education are essential to adequate risk-factor reduction to maintain your optimum health.
